A little better
Miles run: 5.51
Time: 51:44
Pace: 9:22
HR: 172/184 (avg/max)
Perceived effort: 7.5/10
Temp: 22°
Today was a little better. Even though I broke the glass on a picture first thing this morning. And, even though when we got home and found the crock pot meal that was cooking totally sucked. The day was a little better. Off to Subway I went for a non-crock-pot-sucky meal.
Run was pretty good. Felt fast the whole time even though 9:22 isn’t really that fast. Compared to the recent 10:00+ paces it’s very fast. Bundled up too–long sleeve underarmor, long sleeve t-shirt, and sweatshirt. This helped even though the arms felt heavy. The Subway 6″ veggie I had for dinner never quite sat right during the run. I’ll have to speak to them about making an exercise-friendlier sandwich for me next time. (I don’t know what that could possibly be, but it’s worth a try.)
You know all this blog-reading and posting really cuts into book reading time. I may have to find the audio version of my book–but then that feels like cheating. And I don’t want to do that. I’m just not MAKING enough time to read paper. Readin’ too many pixels.
How could tomorrow be better? If I don’t have any meetings at work, if the two computers I have to roll out roll out smoothly, if I can take my dog to the groomer’s and have her nails clipped (they are the loooongest they’ve ever been, and I’m a horrible owner for letting them get that way). They’re so long that even after I have them clipped, they’ll still be too long. If I can throw just one thing out of my basement. Each day. One thing. Then maybe it’ll get done. If I can take the picture sans glass to the hardware store down the street and they say “Sure, we can cut a heart-shaped piece to fit that for you! And it’ll be really cheap, too!” If at least a few of these things can happen then the day should be fine. Luckily we get to go to James & Kellie’s tomorrow for dinner, so that should be fun. Maybe Morgan will blow raspberries at me.

I’d make Seinfeld proud… I, apparently, rated as Superman! Though I don’t feel like him.

A Case of the Mondays
Miles run: 2.75ish
Time: 27:30ish
Pace: crappy
Temp: 18°
HR: 158/175 (woefully low compared to other runs)
On the iPod: nothing that fit the evening (I don’t have Beck’s ‘I’m a Loser’ on the player)
Well, I think Kelly M had it right when she complained about today.
Woke up early, couldn’t sleep. Something wasn’t right.
Forgot to bring the BlackBerry into work with me. Because of that I ALMOST forgot a meeting, and ALMOST forgot to setup a video conference to the office in Phoenix.
Midway through the day I notice… “Huh, forgot to wear a belt.” Developed a faint eye twitch at some point in the afternoon. Just another thing…
Grab a quick dinner at Moe’s in Wilton. Actually Steph gets dinner, I just get chips and salsa since I don’t really like much else there. Go to BestBuy to pickup a wireless keyboard and mouse for the office, and they don’t carry the one I wanted anymore. Groan.
Get home, change into running gear and hesitantly go for a run. My heart isn’t in it. No energy, no ambition, no warmth. My Nike+ gadget misbehaves and doesn’t record any accurate information. Yet another thing. Give up somewhere around 2.75 or so in my 3 mile run.
Grab the mail from the mailbox as I walk back to my house. Yay! Porn! That is… bike porn. I get lots of bike porn–catalogs and whatnot related to cycling.
Go inside, take off the balaclava and shoes, plop down on the dining room chair and go through the mail. Hmm, two letters from the bank… What could these be? Tax docs? Open them and they inform me that my credit card is in a group of numbers MasterCard believes may be compromised. What!? AGAIN!? Damn it! This is the second f**king time in ONE YEAR! Now I have to change a slew of automatic payments to creditors, AGAIN!
When will the madness stop!?
Last thing for tonight is to watch Battlestar Galactica off the DVR. I don’t have high hopes for success there either. I better just stick to reading my book club book. Maybe I’ll get a paper cut.
I hope your day was better.
