Spring flood

As if there wasn’t enough going on right now… the basement is flooded. With water. And despair.

I discovered it last night. Set the pump to work. Tried to rescue what I could off the floor. Tried to avoid getting electrocuted. It’s a big mess.

It doesn’t look like a plumbing problem. I’m guessing the saturated ground, and recent rain, and melting snow have all come together in a perfect storm.

I’m taking a break from mopping and cleaning to take a breather, have a drink and post these pics.

An inch deep here Pumping it out

Oh geeze, that’s a bummer!!!! Are the pumps taking the water out okay? Do you have alot of damage? You home owners will take care of all that I hope. Some insurances totally suck, like ours!!! I just hope your’s is a good one. Of course depending on what you have in the basement, a check from the insurance company isn’t going to bring back what you lost.
Sorry you are going through that mess, I hope by now it’s at least water free and the damage is minimal.

Dude, that totally sucks! Hopefully you don’t lose that much stuff from it. Yuck.
Hope it gets better and some sun shines in instead. :)
How was that for crappy hallmark-like advice? Admit it, you want to hire me for my frivolity.
Have a good (less wet) weekend.

Ugh - sorry to hear about the flooding. Hope things get better (and dryer!) soon.
