On a roll

Ok. I’m on a roll. Training-wise. Three days. Thirty mile group ride Wednesday. Five mile run Thursday morning. And thirty mile ride today. It was difficult to get the momentum back after being off the bike for nearly two weeks. Well, not really off, but just highly inconsistent. The run was particularly motivating. Even though I felt lousy when starting it, I had a PR for that distance and my fastest pace, an 8:34! (Check out the running stats in the Nike widget up there on the right…)

I had to give the Bianchi back to it’s rightful owner (this is the loaner I got to tide me over to the new bike once insurance money came in). He needed it for a 400 mile ride this weekend. In order to get today’s ride in, I borrowed John’s second bike last minute–he kindly let me take it for the weekend.

The check has arrive and I’m deciding between a Trek Madone 5.2 or a Giant OCR C1. I rode a Madone 5.0 and really liked it. It felt most like my Trek 5000 than the other bikes I’ve tried (Specialized Roubaix Comp, Cannondale Synapse, and Giant TCR C1.

  1. Oh my gosh I so didn’t know there were so many bikes out there to choose from. How do you decide anyway? Are they all basically the same and it’s just personal preference? See I know “nadda” about bikes, cause the simple reason, I don’t ride.
Welcome back to the blogging world and glad you are back riding again
