A quarter of the way there
Miles run: 7.15
Time: 1:14:24
Pace: 10:24
HR: 171/183
Temp: 21°
Perceived effort: 5 out of 10
On the iPod: since this was such a long run I’m going with two tracks that played–Jerusalem by Sinead O’Connor and Blue Dress by Depeche Mode
Awesome run tonight! Great big fluffy snowflakes, mostly clear road, mostly warm–in fact, the temperature slowly rose a couple degrees while I was out. I must have gotten a second wind just before leaving work, ’cause I felt energized and couldn’t wait to get out on the road.
7.15 miles is a smidgen over a quarter of a marathon. At this rate I should have a half-marathon’s distance under my belt within a few weeks. My pace is pretty slow, but that wasn’t the point of tonight’s run. Pushing the distance marker a little further out was tonight’s goal.

GO YOU!! But I do need to ask you one question that I always ponder when I see runners….How can you stand to run in the COLD/SNOWY weather????? I can’t even handle walking to my car..in these freezing temps…now to run in it..HELL NO!! More power to you!! hmm about that energy..when am I getting some???
I’ll stick to walking on my treadmill..inside…where it’s WARM!! haha
What triathalon are you aiming for?? just curious?? Ironman??

Again. you both inspire and depress me. I was happy cause I ran twenty minutes on an eliptical trainer today.
Keep pushing and that marathon will be easier than you think.

All 3 of three of you make me want to run from here to Target and back!! Seriously, I SO admire the dedication you have to exercise. I am SLOWLY working on it. PAINFULLY SLOW!! Will I be running 7 miles…maybe..doubt it, but maybe.

Okay let me restate. I do not find you depressing. It is more that although I am busy I know that I could push myself more when I’m at the gym or that I could find the time when I am home if I tried. I choose not to push myself and it aggravates me. I read your blog and think if Kurt could do this, maybe I could too. But then reality crashes in that I am lazy and while possible, it is highly unlikely that I will push myself that far. So forget the depress part and focus on the fact that you do inspire me to push a little bit more.
Thanks!
