Ok guys and gals, I was planning on running five miles, but eked out one bonus mile ’cause I was feeling good. Who wants to claim that bonus mile? It’s worth about 135 virtual calories (which seems kinda low) and bragging rights that you ran, at night, in the cold, after a day’s work. I don’t just give away bonus miles, willy nilly, but I’m feelin’ generous today.

Today's 6 mile runToday is show and tell. Here is what today’s run looks like on my NikePlus account online. It’s pretty cool how they manage the info. They could offer a few more features for real number geeks like me, but the sheer simplicity of it outweighs any other issues. I do virtually NOTHING to get this data into my account. Well… I have to run 6 miles, but you know… After the run, I just plug my iPod into my Mac, and it sucks the run data out and sends it automagically to my account. No typing, no logging in, nothing. I like that.

You’ll notice the dots? Those are either where I pressed a button on the iPod to get my current stats, or a one-mile point. That last mile was a strong finish, so it’s a better than average bonus mile. You’ll also notice the two dots right next to each other at the end… the first one is me wondering how much is left, because I was quickly running out of gas at that pace!

Part of the reason for the extra mile was that I’m probably going to be off the pavement for the next two days—dinner at James & Kellie’s Wednesday, and dinner at the parental’s Thursday. This might be a good thing anyway, since the anklebone on my left foot is sore from rubbing against the side of the shoe. Not sure, why it’s a problem now… Maybe the cushioning is giving way and my foot sits a millimeter or two lower? They shoes ARE pretty old. I want to get new ones, but don’t want to destroy them after one week’s running on grimy, salty roads. (I’ll have to post a pic of how poor my current kicks look.)

Why Röyksopp? Because I stumbled upon them and love their cool, easy, Norwegian electronic sound. Songs you should check out: Eple and Poor Leno. Poor Leno is one of the tracks on my favorite video game, SSX3.
